Jazz dance classes for kids in Los Angeles.
Sharp lines, turns and leaps. Jazz is the bridge between ballet technique and the high-energy choreography kids see on stage and screen, and it's where many dancers fall in love with performing.

More than steps.
Jazz builds strength, flexibility and performance quality. Over a season, dancers build:
Turns
Pirouettes and chaîné turns with correct spotting, balance and finish.
Leaps and jumps
Grand jetés, jumps and kicks, built on strength and safe flexibility work.
Isolations and style
Sharp, stylized movement and clean lines that give jazz its energy.
Performance
Facials, projection and dancing full out, even in class.
Jazz that grows with them.
Classes are grouped by age and level, so every dancer learns with peers at a similar stage. Here is how class changes as dancers grow.
Basic jazz walks, kicks, simple turns and fun routines that build coordination and confidence.
Stronger turns and leaps, flexibility work and longer choreography with more style.
Advanced turn sequences, leaps and performance-level choreography.

Jazz FAQ.
What age can my child start jazz?
Jazz classes at Danzone start at age 5. Classes are grouped by age and level so dancers learn with peers at a similar stage.
What's the difference between jazz and hip hop?
Jazz builds on ballet technique, with turns, leaps and clean lines. Hip hop is grounded and rhythm-driven, built on grooves and isolations. Many dancers enjoy taking both.
Should my child take ballet with jazz?
It helps. Ballet builds the balance and placement that make jazz turns and leaps stronger, so many dancers take the two together.
Does my child need experience to start jazz?
No. Beginner classes assume zero background, and instructors build technique from the very first class.
Mix and match.
Most of our dancers train across two or three styles, which is how technique compounds.
