Studio policies

How the studio runs.

Clear policies keep classes running smoothly for every dancer. Please read them before your first month of classes. Questions are always welcome at hello@danzonestudios.com or (818) 579-2045.

Effective October 1, 2026

Enrollment

New dancers are welcome to take one free trial class before enrolling. No payment details are needed for the trial.

  • Enrollment is completed online through our booking system, GoStudioPro.
  • A one-time registration fee of $35 per dancer is due at initial enrollment.
  • A signed participant waiver is required before a dancer's first class.
  • Class placement is by age and level. Instructors may recommend a different class if it's a better fit for your dancer.

Tuition & billing

  • Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. You can pay online through GoStudioPro or in person at the studio.
  • If you keep a card on file in GoStudioPro, tuition is charged to it automatically on the 1st of each month until you cancel (see Withdrawals below).
  • Monthly tuition is the same every month. It is averaged across the season, so months with holidays or five weeks are not prorated.
  • Payments not received by the 15th of the month incur a $10 late fee to cover the added administrative cost.
  • A sibling discount is available for families with two or more enrolled dancers. The amount depends on enrollment, so please ask the front desk.
  • Dancers with a balance more than 15 days past due may be paused from class until the account is current.

Current tuition rates are available from the front desk or by email.

Withdrawals

Monthly tuition continues until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time. To cancel:

  1. Email hello@danzonestudios.com with the subject "Cancel enrollment," or tell us in person at the front desk.
  2. Include your dancer's name and the class you're cancelling.
  3. Watch for our confirmation email, which we send within two business days. If you don't receive it, please call us.
  • Cancellations received at least two weeks before the next billing date take effect before that charge. Cancellations received later take effect after the next billing date, and your dancer is welcome to attend the classes in that final month.
  • Tuition already paid is not refunded for missed classes or partial months.

Missed classes & make-ups

Life happens. If your dancer misses a class, they can make it up in another class at the same or a lower level within 30 days, subject to availability.

  • Book make-ups with the front desk so we can confirm there's space.
  • Make-up classes have no cash value and can't be carried into a new season or transferred to another dancer.

Studio closures

  • Danzone Studios follows the closures listed on our current season calendar. Tuition already accounts for these dates.
  • If we cancel a class for any other reason, such as instructor illness or an emergency, we'll notify you by email and/or text as early as possible and schedule a make-up.

Drop-off & pick-up

  • Please arrive about ten minutes before class so dancers can settle in and start on time.
  • Dancers under age 8 must be walked into the studio by an adult and picked up inside.
  • Please pick up within 10 minutes of class ending. After that 10-minute grace period, a flat $15 late pick-up fee applies to cover additional staff time.
  • We only release dancers to parents, guardians, or adults listed on the dancer's account. Let us know in advance if someone new is picking up.
  • Street parking is available along Pico and nearby residential blocks. Please follow posted signs and never double-park in front of the studio.

Dress code

For a first class, anything comfortable is fine. For regular classes:

  • Ballet: a leotard in any color, tights or other fitted dancewear, and ballet shoes.
  • Hip hop: comfortable clothes and clean indoor sneakers, worn only in the studio.
  • Tap: fitted dancewear and tap shoes.
  • Jazz: fitted dancewear and jazz shoes.
  • Contemporary: fitted dancewear; bare feet or appropriate dance footwear.
  • Gymnastics & tumbling: a gymnastics leotard in any color; bare feet.
  • Hair tied back for every class. No jewelry except small stud earrings.

Please label shoes and bags. Unclaimed items go to lost and found and are donated after 30 days.

Health & safety

  • Dance is a physical activity, and like any sport it carries some risk of injury. Our instructors teach safe technique and age-appropriate progressions to help reduce that risk.
  • Please keep dancers home if they have a fever, vomiting, or a contagious illness. We ask that they return once they've been symptom-free for 24 hours.
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for telling us about any injuries, medical conditions, or allergies before class, and for keeping the dancer's GoStudioPro profile up to date. We share this information only with staff who need it to care for your dancer.
  • Our staff are not medical professionals. In an emergency, we will contact emergency services and the parent or guardian on file.
  • Dancers should bring a water bottle. Food and gum stay out of the studio room.
  • Instructors may adjust or pause an activity at their discretion.

Studio etiquette

Danzone is a place where every dancer should feel safe, seen, and respected.

  • We expect kindness toward classmates, instructors, and families. Bullying, including online, isn't tolerated.
  • Phones stay in bags during class.
  • Parents are welcome to wait in the lobby, but we encourage dropping off when you can, because dancers focus and perform best on their own.
  • Please share questions or concerns with the front desk or by email rather than during class, so instructors can stay focused on the dancers.

Photos & video

  • We sometimes take photos and video during classes, camps, and events. We only share them on our website and social media for dancers whose parent or guardian has given us permission, and we never post a dancer's full name.
  • You can give or withdraw photo permission at any time by emailing us.
  • To protect every dancer's privacy, please don't record or post classes that include other children without the studio's permission.
  • Choreography is the property of Danzone Studios and its instructors and may not be performed or posted elsewhere without permission.

Recital

Our annual recital is a highlight of the year. Participation is optional, and families enroll separately to take part.

  • Recital information, registration dates, fees, and deadlines are announced during the season.
  • Costume fees are non-refundable once costumes are ordered.
  • Dancers who withdraw after the recital registration deadline may not be able to perform.

Policy updates

We may update these policies from time to time. We'll email enrolled families about any change to tuition, billing, or withdrawals at least 30 days before it takes effect whenever reasonably possible.

At enrollment, families confirm they have read and agree to these policies. Questions? Email hello@danzonestudios.com or call or text (818) 579-2045.
